Paintings and drawings

The inventory includes design drawings by the architects involved in the planning or by the artists who were responsible for the interior design of the newly created rooms.

The archive’s collections contain a number of paintings closely associated with the early redevelopment, some of which depict the original architecture or the street during the rebuilding phase.

The paintings by Ernst Müller-Scheessel and Theodor Herrmann relating to the architectural history were not directly commissioned by Roselius but were certainly admired and purchased by him.

The collection also includes design drawings by the architects involved in the planning work and the artists who were responsible for the interior design of the newly created rooms.
